An evergreen shrub or small tree to 6m with spreading ascending branches. Naturally occurs in coastal & lowland forests, from North Cape to Banks Peninsula. Akeake provides good shelter, is hardy & will withstand exposed conditions.
Recommended pre germination seed treatment: Seed germinates without pre treatment. 4 weeks cold stratification will help speed up and even out germination time. (For details refer to Propagation Information tab at top of page / Seed Dormancy).
