A magnificent deciduous tree 30 or 40m with tall wide spreading form & large pinnate leaves. Best on good fertile moist soils, very hardy in most situations & has good frost tolerance.
Recommended pre germination seed treatment: Seed requires 4 weeks warm stratification followed by 4 weeks cold stratification. (For details refer to Propagation Information tab at top of page / Seed Dormancy).
