Fuscospora cliffortioides - Mountain beech, Nothofagus solandri var. cliffortioides(NZ Native)
Fuscospora cliffortioides (Nothofagus solandri var. cliffortioides prior to 2013) commonly called Mountain beech is a species of Southern Beech tree and is endemic to New Zealand. Mountain beech grows throughout New Zealand. A forest tree to around 25 metres but near the treeline at high altitude forms a "goblin forest" where the trees are no more than 2m tall.
