Lomandra longifolia is a native Australian tussock. It can grow in a range of sandy soils, in swamps and wet places to the montane zone on banks of creeks, rocky hillsides, cliffs and open forests. This species is highly drought-tolerant but also can tolerate occasional flooding. The leaves are glossy green, firm and flat with prominent tooths at the tips. Fragrant creamy yellow flowers are borne from spring to summer.
